Facing The World is helping to change the future for Vietnamese children by facilitating operations and supporting surgeons through global training programs, giving children with facial disfigurement a chance to thrive.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have taken on this enormous challenge of doing a quadrathlon which involves the following, a 1 mile swim in the sea(!) a 4 mile kayak, a 38 mile cycling race and to finish, a 7 mile run across sand, mud and marsh. My training has been intense to say the least as this is not something I would normally take on.

My aim is to raise £3,000 in support of my two friends Bert Portal and James Cash who are taking part in the Woodvale Atlantic Challenge Race in December 2011.  This race is a continuous rowing race in a two man boat covering over 2500 nautical miles from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua.

James and Bert are hoping to raise an ENORMOUS £300,000 for the UK registered charity Facing the World that offers surgery to children with very severe facial disfigurements.  Having seen the charity's video recently, I was so moved that I felt I had to do something to help towards their fund raising efforts. If you have a minute please look at the video on the website  www.facingtheworld.com

Every little helps so thank you all for your support.

lots of love
