Story
So what's the big deal about Gareth running a half marathon. Didn't Gareth run the London marathon a few years ago?
Well yes he did but actually it is still a big deal. Here is a few reasons why:
1. Last time I did it for Save the Rhinos. Saving rhinos is great but this time by running for WWF I am trying to save the whole of biodiversity for future generations.
2. Talking of future generations, last time I had one easy going toddler - I now have beautiful but high maintenance 4, 5, and 6 year olds. Fitting in training is a whole lot harder.
3. It was over five years ago. I was slimmer fitter and had actually done some training. This time I am attempting this feat having done almost none.
It is amazing how little money can make such a big difference. E.g. £120 pays for training an anti-poaching patrol to protect snow leopards; £60 pays for a stove for families living in pandas' habitats which stops them cutting down trees for firewood; so it's good for the people and the pandas' habitat.
