Zip-wire for KIDS · 18 March 2012 ·

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm planning to Fundraise for K.I.D.S through Birmingham Children's Hospital. As a bonus you can take great satisfaction that I will scare myself to death as I ZIP WIRE over the Ricoh Arena on 18th March.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

We are supporting K.I.D.S through Birmingham Childrens Hospital:

KIDS (Kids Intensive Care and Decision Support) is the new name for the West Midlands Paediatric Retrieval Service (WMPRS). KIDS reflects more closely the multiple roles of the service throughout the region and beyond.

We operate from the Paediatric Intensive Care Units of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

What we do:

A skilled Paediatric Intensive Care team is available to assist in the treatment of critically ill children, both before and during transfer to intensive care.

When to refer

Teams caring for a seriously ill child can call the KIDS Team – there is advice from a paediatric intensivist, access to specific specialist advice, sourcing of paediatric intensive care beds, logistical arrangements and an experienced and expertly resourced transport team and purpose built ambulance. The KIDS Team are happy to discuss cases prior to a definite need for intensive care support, and will provide on-going telephone advice for referring teams.
