The Herts Air Ambulance (part of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust) is a free, life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for critically ill or injured people in Essex, Herts & surrounding areas. It costs in the region of £500k a month to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations.

Story

On Saturday the 27th February I will be taking on the Bury Farm Bareback Challenge. This is a class of 8 show jumps to be attempted without a saddle!! The class will be running in memory of Russell Pearson, who always kept it real and had a great sense of humour. It seems fitting that the class he loaned me a horse for 2years ago, will be run in his memory.

Having not ridden for a while and growing older, I realise the sight of me flying through the air may bring great amusement to many spectators (not only my colleagues!) Please give generously over the next few weeks as I prepare to leave the ground to raise money for those amazing pilots who do this  every day to save the lives of many others.

I haven't ridden for 12 years, apart from my last attempt at the Bareback Challenge. This year I hope to make it over the first fence! I will be undergoing intense training for this momentous evening and updates will be published on this page throughout.

Please dig deep so that risking my dignity is worth while.

Thank you.
