Gareth 's Trek Mount Toubkal

Trek Mount Toubkal · 9 June 2019
I am delighted to be joining Chris Henry and the other “trekkers” for this unique opportunity to climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco as part of Chris’ testimonial year. Chris has been a tremendous ambassador for Chest, Heart and Stroke (NICHS) driven by his own personal experience of having a mini stroke (TIA) at a young age.
I am also undertaking this trek in memory of my dad Peter who passed away in 2010. Dad was a very giving person and this seems a
good way to remember his generosity and kind spirit. I have also lost close relatives to both stroke and heart attacks and I would like to dedicate this trek to them.
I am hoping to raise in excess of £10k which will be used to support the work of NICHS. All funds that I raise will go directly to supporting the work we do for people that are recovering from either stroke or heart attack, and attend our Care & Support Groups in Armagh and throughout Northern Ireland. These Groups are free to participants but could not happen without much needed funds and donations to our charity from the public. Over 80% of our annual funding comes from public donations.
As Deputy Chief Executive of NICHS, I am trying to raise as much money as possible to ensure that those who have suffered from a stroke/heart attack (and their carers) can avail of rehabilitation, care and support to help them recover and live their lives to the full.
Your support is sincerely appreciated.
