On the 8th July, I will be taking part in the Peak District Challenge which involves a 100km (62.13 mile) walk over 2450m (2.25 Snowdon's) of Peak District trails, which I need to complete within 24 hours.

Why on earth? :-) At the end of 2020, we welcomed a Beagle into our house and nothing has quite been the same since!
What that also did though was to open my eyes to the cruelty of Beagles being bred for laboratory testing who are cooped up at a UK puppy mill in small cages and the breeders who are forcing dogs to deliver back-to-back litters. All because the Beagle is renowned for being docile, people pleasing, and very forgiving. They are easy to “maintain” in cages and do not have a tendency to bite when being hurt.

Beagle Welfare; which was formed in 1979, gives help and advice on Beagles and re-home as many as they can, for whatever reason.
The main aims of Beagle Welfare are:
• The prevention of maltreatment and cruelty to beagles.
• To encourage responsible ownership throughout Great Britain.
• Re-home beagles whose owners are unable to do so.
• Provide advice and guidance to beagle owners.
• Promote responsible breeding practices in the breeding of beagles.
Thank you so much for your help and support - your donation will make a huge difference :-)
