This year I'm running the Brighton Marathon and Tough Mudder to raise money for Mind in Cambridgeshire.

 

Every year 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health challenge.

 

Mind in Cambridgeshire believes that no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They support people facing difficulties with their emotional or mental health, and help them on their road to recovery.

 

They campaign extensively to tackle stigma and raise awareness of the need for everyone to look after their mental wellbeing.

 

I'm Vice Chair for Mind in Cambridgeshire and see first hand the incredible work they do and the outcomes they achieve. It's taken all winter to train for this and is going to hurt but it will be worthwhile if we can raise valuable funds for a fantastic charity.

 

Brighton Marathon - Sunday,14th April

Tough Mudder - Saturday, 4th May

 

Tough Mudder is a 12 mile assault course designed by Special Forces. It involves electric shocks, fire and ice water and other nasty things they've dreamed up. Click here to see more!

 

Here are some of the things that your money will help support:

 

£15  – enables us to provide telephone support/information to someone who is struggling with symptoms and doesn’t know where to get the help they need

£30 – will provide a one hour counselling session for someone on a low income.

£50 – will provide in-house training for one volunteer who will then go on support up to 10 people within the community

£100 - enables one person to attend our wellbeing course, at which participants gain new skills while providing invaluable mutual support to other group members

 

I've paid all the event fees so all donations will go directly to the charity.
