Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know Lucy my 14 year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2013. Lucy underwent a successful brain operation to remove most of the tumour.
In December 2014 we found out that the remaining tumour was growing and needed to be removed. In February 2015 Lucy had a 9 hour operation to remove a golf ball sized tumour.
Lucy is in recovery but is struggling with tremor in her left hand which makes it difficult for her to complete some day to day activities. However Lucy is not one to feel sorry for herself and has already started to return to school.
I decided to use my 50th birthday celebration in a positive way by raising money for this great charity.
For those who attended the joint 50th celebration it was a fantastic night. We exceeded our expectations of money raised for both charities (Brain Tumour Charity and Macmillan Nurses) thanks to everyone for their generosity.
Any further donations will be gratefully received !
Since Lucy was diagnosed 18 months ago I have learned that there is always someone in a worse situation. I chose this charity not only because of what happened to Lucy but for all the brave people, their family and friends who are living with a tumour or worse lost a loved one.
Thanks very much
