Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please click on "Read more of my story" below to view the whole page.

My beautiful, kind hearted nephew sadly passed away on 3 May 2012. It was the most heart breaking experience that myself, my immediate family and Adam's close friends have had to go through and will be for a very long time. Why? Because Adam was an amazing human being who left this earth way before his time. My nephew’s passing was shockingly sudden. We knew that it would happen one day but not so soon. I for one had convinced myself that it would be after he had carried the Olympic Torch and I had completed the three charity events. The cycling events seem irrelevant now and unimportant but I’ll do my best to complete them in the memory of Adam Lewis.

My personal aim of raising £2,000 for The Sick Children’s Trust www.justgiving.com/GarryLewisTSCT has been achieved and there is still more to come (outstanding sponsorship forms and collection pots etc). Thank you all so very much for your kind generosity. Adam only said a couple of weeks before he passed away that he couldn’t believe how much had been raised so far. I quickly told Adam that people had been donating for him and his story. Not for me, not for the charity but for him.

As per the wishes of my brother Kevin Lewis (Adam’s dad), will you please consider making any future donations to PACT (Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia). They were absolutely brilliant during Adam's illness (more so than any other charity) and continued that support even when they were not obliged to do so.. Without PACT, Adam and his dad would have had to travel 130 miles everyday for radiotherapy. PACT provided a room 100 metres from Sheffield Children's Hospital. They really do deserve your full support. Thank you.
