We are holding an 11-a-side fancy dress football match between Santa's & Elves which will be refereed by a snowman! This game is set up for a bit of fun & will hopefully get everyone involved into Christmas spirit, but the main reason for it is to help a local charity.
St Catherines Hospice do great work providing palliative and end of life care free of charge. They rely heavily on donations to keep them going with little funding from the government. Between the two teams, we have an initial fundraising target of £50 per player (£1,300) but we hope to raise much more than that so please give generously - it's all going to a very worthy cause.
You can choose to get behind either "Team Santa" or "Team Elf" by clicking on one of the pictures below and donating to any of the players in that team. Alternatively you can just donate to me by clicking the "Donate" button above, and your donation will be split between both teams. (Please note that this is just for a bit of fun, all donations made to any player/either team will be going to St Catherines Hospice)
Spectators are very welcome so please come along to offer your support/hurl abuse at us all! We are hopeful of getting some sort of media coverage so you may even get your 5 mins of fame!
The game will be getting professionally filmed with commentary recorded at a later stage by myself, a few mates and a few beers - So can't promise professionality on that! These will be on sale for £5 each with all proceeds also going to St Catherines. Please let me know if you would like one via e-mail - fisherg53@yahoo.co.uk
The game will be played on 14th December at Brownedge St Marys High School, Bamber Bridge. 3:00pm Kick off.
Following the game, we will be heading to the Withy Trees pub for a well-deserved pint so please feel free to join us there too.
We hope to see you down there & Thanks for your support
