The 23rd of October 2016 was meant to be a normal Old Firm day for our family. The four of us all going to the game, me and my sister Kerry Ann in the Rangers end and My step father Jimmy and my brother Shaun in the Celtic end with my mum at home just hoping we all comeback in some sort of good mood. But unfortunately none of us made the game.
Just as I was getting close to Hampden I got a phone call from my sister saying that my step father Jimmy had taken a heart attack and we were to meet each other and make our way to the hospital. When we finally met up and were making our way I was certain that everything was going to be alright and it would be just a scare, but when we got to the hospital we were hit with the devastating news that Jimmy had passed away.
My family has been ripped apart with his sudden death and it's something we will all never get over. On the 3rd of November we got a little ray of light with of the birth of my baby daughter Hallie James who we named after her Granda. A just wish he was here because a know how much he was looking forward to meeting her.
Me and my brother Shaun are doing the Edinburgh Marathon on the 28th of May 2017 for him and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation so there is a chance in the future we could live in a world where no one dies prematurely from Heart disease and families don't need to go through what we have.
