Malakal to Marne Barracks (8,420km) Run, cycle, row, and ski. · 23 November 2019

We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

‘Marne barracks is the home of 31 fd Sqn, 32 engineer regiment - many of whom along with corunna company from the Duke of Lancaster's regiment are currently deployed in malakal, south sudan in support of the united nations peacekeeping mission'.

As we approach the end of our deployment, we're all very much looking forward to making the journey home - a total distance of 8,420km! Whilst ordinarily we'd hitch a ride with the RAF to get ourselves home, we've challenged ourselves to run, row, cycle and ski the total distance in less than 48 hours.

This will be a demanding task and will be a test of everyone's physical stamina and determination. How can you help? I have organised this event in aid of the Army benevolent fund a charity that supports soldiers past and present and not only the soldiers but also their families, so please dig deep and let's raise some cash for a cause which is close to all of our hearts.
