Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mental health has always been very important to me and I think the events of 2020 and beyond have made everyone realise that, just like physical health, it can be thrown off balance very easily and the two go hand in hand. I think we all found that something as simple as walking or cycling helped so much during the lockdowns.

The Cathedrals' Cycle Route "Cycle with Purpose" Relay is an event that starts in Newcastle on the 30th of May and links all of England's 42 cathedrals in a circular route finishing on the 10th of July. Its aim is to partner the Association of English Cathedrals, British Pilgrimage Trust, Cycling UK and Sustrans in promoting greener travel and mental and physical wellbeing.

My route starts on the 21st of June and will take me, my two sons and my son in law from here in Salisbury to Exeter, a total of about 100 miles or 161km, we're aiming for a two-day journey and would really appreciate your support in any way you feel able to lend it.

The baton is being passed on to me from the Winchester Cathedral cyclists on Sunday 20th June at about 3.30pm at the Bell Tower Tea Rooms on the cathedral Lawn, please feel free to come and support them.

Even after the relay event is complete the cathedrals will have stickers available for anyone wanting to follow all or any part of the route, so feel free to have a go yourself!
