Story

just had a very generous donation of £100 from a work collegue who's daughter is currently undergoing treatment from the Yorkshire Kidney Unit.

Just a quick update, did my first 10 miler run on Sunday, last mile was tough in hot conditions and I found out that joggers nipple is not an old wives tale!!!! Big thanks to the very generous sponsors from some if the Guys from the KTM Forum. Thank you!

Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We're raising money for The Yorkshire Kidney Research Fund.

My good friend Mick Benson and his wife Gemma had a son born on 25th October 2005 sadly he suffered with  a fatal kidney disease called Infantile Polycystic Kidney Disease. Tragically their son Owen James lost his life the following day.

That's the reason Jonny and I are running this marathon to help raise money and awareness for this great charity.

Thank you.

Gav & Jonny

Well the last long run done, 10 miles today, now to wind down and have an easy week before the big day next Sunday. Not too late to make a donation no matter how big or small. We've almost got £300 of sponsors off work colleagues and friends. It'd be awesome if we can hit £1000!

Well we're halfway in on the 16 week training plan. To be honest it's turning out harder than we imagined it to be, I've struggling with pain in one of my knees, but I ran my longest run to date at the weekend, 13 miles. Yorkshire grit & determination got me through. Thanks G & J

The Yorkshire Kidney Research Fund

Charity Registration No. 1106412

Founded in 1970 theYorkshire Kidney Research Fund supports research into the problems associated with all aspects of kidney disease. Active throughout Yorkshire and benefiting kidney research on a national and international basis, we rely entirely on donations, fundraising, voluntary support and legacies to help us fund groundbreaking work, helping people of all ages. Every year an increasing number of patients are diagnosed with serious kidney disease and kidney failure. Research helps us find the answers to deliver the best treatments and therapies and make a huge difference to many people. Donations help us to achieve our objectives. Some of the areas we're currently funding research in are: Investigating causes of poorly developed kidneys in babies; Ways to reduce the infections dialysis patients suffer from their dialysis catheters; Investigating whether the bladder changes the composition of urine after it is made; Investigating the way in which cells from the kidney die or survive in response to disease states; Optimal way to treat anaemia, a very prevalent complication in kidney patients which causes severe fatigue and reduction in quality of life; Investigating a condition called "Dialysis-related Amyloid". Please support us and help us carry on making a difference.
