Hi folks,

I'm running the 10k this year for Beating Bowel Cancer and would be more over the moon than Zebedee on Apollo 13 if you would show support.

Our friends, relatives and myself have been affected by cancer in its many forms, and my brother is running on behalf of Cancer Research UK to raise money for researching new treatments. While I would never look to compete with my own brother in a charity event (pub quizzes, pool and Fifa 09 being the exceptions), I am running for a lesser know cause that is also close to my heart (but is technically closer to where I carry my bus pass).

Bowel Cancer is the second most common form of cancer in the UK but most people know next to nothing about it. It affects both men and women in near equal measure and can be easily treated if caught early enough, but many live with the symptoms for years through being too embarassed to come forward. I am running to raise awareness and to make sure more is done sooner when it counts rather than later when it may be too late.

Any contribution you can give however small is appreciated and I can guarantee it will be the most worthy "load of arse" you will ever put good money towards.
