Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

It's now or never. Time to shop thinking, and get the walking boots on!!

A group of lads from Reading in peak physical condition are embarking on a treacherous mission to climb Snowdon. In doing so, they will be pushing the limits of human endurance to follow in the footsteps of such greats as Tenzing Norgay (Sherpa who led Sir Edmund Hillary to Everest summit) and Ashraf Aman (First Pakistani climber to summit K2). Their humble cause: to raise money for Gaza and Haiti…

Water, The Source of Life

A year after the war, the Gaza Strip remains a disaster zone. Families are in despair, as hundreds of them had their homes totally destroyed and do not have proper shelter to endure Gaza's conditions. Islamic Relief is helping to rebuild Gaza with a £16 million, 22 project programme. Projects include, reconstruction of schools, developing water networks, rebuilding hospitals and primary care trusts, psychosocial therapy for children and family sponsorship.

Haiti Earthquake

A devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, including the densely populated capital Port-Au-Prince and the surrounding area. Millions of people live in the affected area. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, greatly increasing the risk that people will suffer or die in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Action response needed now:

£25 will buy a family hygiene kit.   £50 will buy a food pack for a family for 1 month.   £75 will buy a water tank, supplying 100 people.   £350 will buy a family tent.
