Cotswold 226 · 17 July 2016

The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and to keep grieving families supported. We fund life-saving research, empower families with expert baby safety advice and support grieving families through their darkest days. We won’t give up until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Story

In July 2016 I will attempt my first (and last!) Ironman at the Cotswold226 event.  This involves swimming, cycling and running a long way, and I need every possible incentive to get me through it.  I can think of no better cause than the Lullaby Trust: it carries out research into cot deaths aiming to make these tragedies a thing of the past; it educates to promote safer sleeping practices; and it supports bereaved families.  You can help them by making a donation, and you can help me by adding to the moral pressure on me to finish.

The Ironman is called "226" because in total the race covers 226km, split as follows;

Swimming 3.8km, 152 lengths of the baths in old money, then...

Cycling 180km, the distance from Bristol to London, and then...

Running 42.2km, or 26 miles aka a marathon to finish.

There's no better cause and there's no bigger challenge, so if you've read this far then please finish the job and make a donation by clicking on the "Donate" link on the top right.
