This is my first ever marathon, and probably hardest challenge, but I couldn't do it for a better charity.  I am very grateful to have the opportunity to fundraise for such a worthwhile cause.

Thousands of children struggle to get a wheelchair to meet all their needs. Whizz-Kidz is an incredible charity that transforms the lives of disabled children across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.  It believes every young disabled person has the right to a fun and active childhood.  Since 1990, Whizz-Kidz have transformed the lives of more than 180000 disabled children and young people.  I feel very inspired about what Whizz-Kidz represents and the work that they do.

By providing vital mobility equipment, support and life skills, Whizz-Kidz help children reach their full potential.  The charity provides children with the opportunity to build friendships, have fun and helps them look forward to the future.

Whizz-Kidz run life journey services such as youth groups, residential camps, work placements and wheelchair skills training.  These activities enable children to gain more independence.  The charity aims at developing leadership, decision-making and team work through a leadership programme.

It is estimated that 70000 disabled children and young people in the UK are waiting for the right mobility equipment to meet their needs.

Your support and the money raised will go towards the cost of providing a disabled child's powered chair - the ultimate gift to transforming their life, and future, overnight.

To raise money I have had incredible support from friends and family. A special thank you to the Oral and Maxillofacial department at Bedford Hospital. We have recently had a very successful Cake Bake sale.  A huge gratitude to my friend and colleague Sarah Folkes for her unbelievable contribution with her Head Shave.

I am looking forward to running the Virgin London Marathon 2016 for Whizz-Kidz, an amazing charity that provides so much opportunity for young disabled people to become mobile, motivated and confident.
