In memory of my sister-in-law Emma, and in recognition of the wonderful work Macmillan do for cancer patients and their families, I have pledged to do the Great North Swim, a 1 mile swim in the open waters of Lake Windermere on June 14th.

Macmillan cannot continue to do their fantastic work without our support as they are a charity relying on donations.  When I think of how cold the water will be, or how much my knee will hurt, I know it is nothing in comparison to how much some people suffer, and how valuable the donations from the swim will be for Macmillan.
