Reverse Bungee Jump · 15 April 2012

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

On Sunday 15th June 2012 at The Red Lion, Battlefield Shrewsbury, Gemma will be taking part in The Ejection Seat Reverse Bungee Jump to raise funds for the Cardiac Neonatal Baby Unit (Ward 11) at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

 

The Ejection Seat Bungee is breathtaking experience, She will be seated in an open framed, twin seated spherical metal cage, attached by bungee cords to 140ft telescopic towers. As the winches stretch the cords to the top of the towers, the only thing holding them down is an Electro Magnet.

 

Suddenly the power of the magnet is switched off, and we shall be catapulted skyward, reaching a height of 200ft in less than 1.4 seconds. The acceleration is greater than a Ferrari, and we will experience a gravitational force of 4.8G's!!!
