Story
ok so since I'm turning 30 this year, I decided I really wanted to challenge myself, to say goodbye to my 20's at last and bring in a new decade and a new start to my life. What better than accepting a challenge to make me sweat and look like a bright red tomatoe and ache for 3 weeks after! I really know how to cellebrate.
I have always wanted to challenge myself to do a half marathon but never seemed to get round to actually doing it, opting for chocolate instead, so nows the time. The great north run is 30 years old this year, what a coincidence, so this is the challenge I have accepted and I have dragged my ever faithful friend Elinor to do it with me. She may well never forgive me after this one.
So starting the training was the easy part, knee pain, shin splints, backache, blisters, aching muscles and the exhaustion that are taking over are challenging my will power. So actually getting to run 13.1 miles is seeming to be my nemisis!
I am running for the British Red Cross and all of their work they do both at home and internationally.
So to anyone who has taken the time to look at this site, please be brave enough to donate and give me motivation to keep training and get to the finish line, PLEASE!!!!!
thank you
