Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

I was “lucky”(?!) enough to get a ballot place in the 2020 London marathon and chose to take this opportunity to try and raise as much money as possible for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Some of you will already be aware that my husband Scott sadly lost his Dad to this terrible condition so I’d also like to dedicate this run to his memory.

You may remember that I was training for this back in 2020 and was doing okay but then covid happened! So, 2.5 years later I’m now going to be trying again this October. I’ve lost a lot of fitness so finding training this time round and through the summer much harder!

Please help and support Muscular Dystrophy UK to hit their £250,000 London Marathon target. A target which could help fund over 5,581 hours of ground-breaking research! Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions. They’re making a difference today, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible. They’re making a difference for tomorrow, accelerating progress in research.

I’ve (very slowly!) run the London marathon once before, 13 years and 2 children ago so I’m starting training as a complete beginner!! I’m sure I’ll bore you all with regular updates on the highs and lows of my training journey!

All donations very gratefully received.

Thank you and much love! Gemma xxx
