The Three Peaks · 16 May 2010

Giggleswick School is one of the UK's oldest schools and for five centuries has nestled against the hills in the Yorkshire Dales. We educate children from 3-18. Old Giggleswickians go on to work in many fields including medicine, science, law, education, business, media, sport or the arts. We believe that the quality and breadth of their education helps them to make the world a better place. That is why we hope you will support the School by making a gift to the Giggleswick School Foundation.

Story

Dear Family and Friends

On Sunday May 16 at 05.00 I am planning to set out to walk the Giggleswick to Giggleswick Three Peaks Challenge.

All being well, weather, knee and Icelandic ash permitting, we will return to school about 21.00, 38 miles, up and down the Yorkshire Dales peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, (736m) and Ingleborough.  Each year I have supported the walkers, (a mixture of pupils, parents and teachers) but this year my aim is to complete the challenge myself.

I have never asked anyone for sponsorship before, but I am hoping to raise over £1,500 in total to benefit three good causes.

a)     Help For Heroes

b)     The Ananda Marga Orphanage in

c)     Lighting for our new theatre

As I can only have one Just Giving page these gifts will go to the School, where they will be split 3 ways to these excellent causes.

There is a website which gives some background to this challenge, http://gigg2gigg.googlepages.com/ .  If you would prefer not to give online a cheque or cash would be equally appreciated.

At the moment my training is not going well, but the sunshine is making future practice walks look appealing.

With all good wishes from all the Boult family; and especially those of us in Giggleswick.

Yours sincerely

Geoffrey
