On Sunday 27th June 2010 I'll be having a bash at running the San Luis Potosi marathon in central Mexico. I don't really know why I chose to run it other than I was going to be there at the time and I fancy a challenge. What I do know is it's a long way (26.2miles), it's going to be very hot and the air will be thinner than at home as it's 6000ft above sea level.

As if that's not enough I'll be missing the England v Germany game so spare a little thought for me when you're pouring beer down your necks!

To ensure that at least some good comes from this self-inflicted torture I'd like to raise some cash for Macmillan Cancer Support. Their nurses have helped me and my family in difficult times and this run is dedicated to the outstanding work that they do.
