Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are commemorating the sacrifice of medics and nurses from WWI by completing the 13 mile course in authentic period uniforms and carrying stretchers and equipment of the time. We will be collecting for the Royal British Legion on the way around but you can add to this by donating via this site!

My great grandfather Pte Claude Taylor was an RAMC stretcher bearer at Gallipoli, the Somme and Ypres. He was awarded the Military Medal for his gallantry. This year my family lost WO1 retired Bob Riglar who was a lifetime RBL fundraiser. We are commemorating both of these honourable men. Our dear friend Carol Gill also lost her mum, Janet Armstrong in November 2017. Janet had served as a WAAF in the Royal Air Force and was also a lifetime supporter of the Royal British Legion. Their memory and that of all our veterans will live on.
