Story

I aim to complete the 26 mile Macmillan Mighty Hike round Ullswater on 4th September, however as my health is now deteriorating I may need the support of a young friend and ex student Izzy Breeze. My last round of chemotherapy has not worked and my prognosis is poor. I am aware of the exceptional work of Macmillan and want to contribute towards the end of life care I am likely to receive in the near future.

Having always been a strong walker, this is now a huge challenge for me, especially now that I am battling with advanced ovarian cancer which is spreading quite rapidly. I shall set off very slowly and no doubt get even slower throughout the day. As a Yorkshire woman I am determined to complete the hike, but may need Izzy's young legs to give me the final push.

In April and May this year I was completing 10 mile walks with ease, however the last bout chemo floored me! This week I start my training once more and have less than 3 months to restart preparations. My efforts will be posted on STRAVA.

Myself and other cancer patients thank you so much for your generous support.
