Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Exactly a year ago today I completed my first (and only may I add) 10k run around London for Parkinson's UK. Everyone kept saying 'Ooh will it be a marathon next?' to which I obviously just laughed hysterically.

Well it turns out I will be doing a marathon after all. I think I've gone bonkers but I have signed up, along side my gorgeous boyfriend, to WALK a marathon around London in September.

Dan and I are walking for 2 very different charities, Parkinson's UK and ShelterBox - both equally worth while but I can only really speak on one. Dan will be walking to raise money for ShelterBox - a fantastic charity providing shelter and emergency supplies after major international disasters. Please search for him also, or get in touch with us, to donate.

I will be walking for Parkinson's UK. I've gone on about it 100 times but it is a subject very close to my heart so I will say it again. My Gramps had PD when he passed away and my fantastic Auntie was diagnosed a few years ago, only in her 60's. She's determined to live a full life as long as possible and is doing a brilliant job. However, we are all to aware that more help might be needed one day. The support that she has received from specialist Parkinson's nurses, physios and therapists already means we are more fully armed for the challenge ahead. Parkinson's UK have personally provided me with a great deal of knowledge and continue to spread the word to raise awareness. Most importantly for me and my family they are also working to find a cure for this nasty disease. PD can be hereditary so my beautiful Mum, cousin and I could all potentially be effected in an even more direct manor ... research, awareness and cure means a huge amount to all of us.#

So that is why I'm putting myself to this crazy, ridiculous challenge of walking 26 miles around London! Please dig deep and donate - I've asked before I know but you didn't let me down then and I ask you not to let me down again. Give anything you can - the price of a pint, have one instead of 2, would be great. Although I will take this chance to point out that I'm walking over double the distance I ran last year so if you donated then please consider that fact when you donate this time :)

Anything you can give will be so greatly appreciated by both myself and Parkinson's UK.

Thank you all in advance - you're all fabulous.
