Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.I
I'vemade the mad decision to run the GEAR 10k this year with the support of the very beautiful Sasha Knight
At VERY nearly 50 this will be a massive challenge for me, but there is a much more important reason for doing this.
On 14th June 2018 my beautiful big sister (my best friend) had a terrible fall and banged her head. As a result Sarah ended up in a coma in Addenbrookes hospital's NCCU for several weeks, having suffered severe head trauma and brain damage. 8 months later and Sarah is still in hospital undergoing intensive physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupation therapy in addition to other daily nursing care.
As you can imagine this was and is devastating for all of us, at first we didn't know whether she would make it and all these months on we still don't know how much permanent damage Sarah will have suffered.
When something like this happens you are desperate for answers, help, support and just someone to understand what you are going through and that's where charities often play their very important part. Headway - the brain injury charity were instrumental in the support we had and that is why I'm raising money for them. I wanted to give something back for the support they've given and will continue to give to Sarah, me and my family throughout this long journey.
So please help by going over to my just giving page and donating a few pennies to help me raise as much as possible for Headway Norfolk & Waveney
