Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.

After climbing Mount Snowdon for our honeymoon, Scottie and I said we would love to share the experience with Beau one day. Sadly this never happened. I wanted to do something memorable for my fast approaching  40th birthday (eek!!) and what better way to celebrate than climbing Snowdon with my super 10 year old son Beau and remembering Beau's Daddy and my husband, Scottie.

On asking Beau to share the experience with me he stated "I am not climbing THAT thing unless we raise money for charity!" So he has chosen a cause so close to our hearts, the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading. He has chosen this wonderful place because of the most fantastic care and consideration they gave to Scottie, and to us as a family, in our last days together.

Our plan is to climb to the summit of Mount Snowdon on Tuesday 26th March 2019, the day of my 40th, and then celebrate with a bottle of Prosecco for me and a Shloer for Beau in a hot tub to ease our aching muscles after our descent down!  This is all obviously dependent on our rather unpredictable British weather conditions. If we are prevented from climbing on this particular day we will attempt another day that week, or if this fails we will return and climb in May when the weather is hopefully more "pleasant". Please be aware, as it is just Beau and myself,  I will only attempt to climb when weather conditions are safe and advisable!

Every penny raised through our climb will be gratefully received by those at this wonderful hospice and appreciated by us and our family. None of us know if we will ever need the care provided by somewhere like this so please support us with any penny you can spare and hopefully make our climb more inspirational to spur us on up there!

With all our love and thanks from Gina and Beau x x
