Georgina's Yorkshire Trod Ultramarathon 50km page

Yorkshire Trod Ultramarathon 50km · 19 October 2019
I’m going to try and complete the Yorkshire Trod ultramarathon in October 2019.
I'm raising money for a number of charities and this page is for Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue (UWFRA - http://www.uwfra.org.uk/) . The volunteers are amazing and tirelessly donate their time and expertise to people in need. They also run an outdoor club every week for 10 to 18 year olds teaching them important survival skills for enjoying the outdoors. What they perhaps don't realise is that the outdoor club has a tremendously positive impact on the community by developing self esteem, respect and a love on the environment.

I only started running 18 months ago and the furthest I’ve ever run is 15 miles.
What makes this event even more challenging is that runners have to navigate their own course between check points.
I might get very lost or stuck in a bog on the notoriously desolate Dales moor. At night.
It feels like the challenge of a lifetime, but I’ve also heard that ultras are addictive.
The Yorkshire Trod route finishes in the next village of Grassington and I’m always in awe as the runners slog to the finish line, usually after running through the night.
