Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On March 28th, 2017, our father passed away after a courageous battle with oesophageal cancer. He was diagnosed in May, 2016, and despite months of gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he died less than a year later. After suffering with misdiagnosed heartburn for many months, his cancer was eventually discovered by a gastroscopy examination. Our aim in attempting to run the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 7th, in our father's memory, is to raise awareness of oesophageal cancer, and to raise funds for the Oesophageal Patients Association (OPA), a charity that support patients and their families. With earlier diagnosis, we hope that others can benefit from earlier treatment and a better prognosis. Thank you for your support.
Bu farw ein tad annwyl ar 28ain o fis Mawrth, 2017, ar ol brwydr ddewr yn erbyn cancr yr oesophagus. Cafodd ei ddiagnosis ym mis Mai, 2016, ac er iddo dderbyn sawl mis o cemotherapi a radiotherapi, bu farw llai na blwyddyn yn ddiweddarach. Ar ol dioddef gyda diagnosis anghywir o gamdreuliad am sawl mis, darganfuwyd ei gancr drwy ymchwiliad gastroscopeg. Ein nod ni drwy ceisio rhedeg Hanner Marathon Caerdydd ar Hydref 7fed, er cof am Dad, yw codi ymwybyddiaeth a chodi arian tuag at yr Oesophageal Patients Association (OPA), elusen sydd yn cynnig cymorth i'r claf a'r teulu. Gyda diagnosis cynharach, gobeithiwn y bydd eraill yn elwa o drinniaeth fwy buan a prognosis gwell. Diolch am eich cefnogaeth.
