Tatton Park Triathlon 2010 · 18 September 2010 ·
Hello
Hurray!!!! It's all done and i'm still alive!!! I'm really pleased with how I did. I was secretly hoping to do the triathlon in under 3 hours and did it in 2 hrs 50 mins 10 Secs. I panicked a bit on the swim but had a really good bike (Jo didn't catch me!) and survived the run (Jo wizzed past and finished 10 minutes ahead of me in 2 hrs 40). I was elated at the end!
After I came back to earth a few days later and remembered I had to do a half marathon and got a bit worried. By the time the day came round was convinced I would have to walk half of it. However, I was secretly hoping I would do it in 2 hrs 30 and was totally blown away to do it in 2 hrs 15 mins 27 secs (beaten by 2 mins by Claire). I felt like jumping for joy - although jumping was definately out of the question. However, pie eating and pint drinking was manageable. Claire's even persuaded me to do Wilmslow half marathon next year so it's all good! Hurray!!!
Thank you all SO MUCH!! Like the other targets, I exeeded the funraising target but have been overwhelmed by everone's generosity and raised far over the origional target of £250. THANK YOU!!!!!

Hello
Thank you for sponsoring me to do the Tatton Park Olympic Length Triathlon and Warrington Half Marathon.
As you know over the last couple of years I have developed a love of triathlon, but this only ever stretched to the shortest distance events - 500m swim, 20K cycle and 5K run. So I though I'd set myself (and Jo) a challenge to do an olympic length triathlon, yes that means the distance they race at the olympics! This is over twice as far at 1500m swim, 40K cycle and 10K run. This is a massive challenge for me, especially the run at the end. So to challenge my running ability further I thought I'd do a half marathon as well. This is a huge challenge as well as I've only ever run two 10K races before. And just to make it extra hard, and prove my stupidity, they're within two weeks of each other.
Given this challenege I thought I'd use the oportunity to raise some money for a charity that is currently very valued by my family. My dad has cancer and my mum and dad have said they don't know what they'd do without the support of the Macmillan nurses. Sue in particular has provided much needed liasion with the medical team and Caroline has provided valued practical and emotional suport.
So, I just wanted to say thank you to all the Sue's and Caroline's around the country and to help to make sure their work continues.
Thanks again
Gill
