Story
Next year, God willing, I will be celebrating a significant birthday alongside my friend Jo. We were born on the same day 10 years apart. To celebrate our blessings of health, family and friends we are undertaking a mammoth cycle ride through India to raise money for Veganuary.
Farmed animals are sometimes abused to serve us. Just like cats and dogs they experience pain and happiness. The mass production of animals for food and clothing has resulted in an industry that sometimes cares little for their well being. Veganuary’s Mission is to reduce the suffering of these animals by inspiring people to try vegan in January, and perhaps throughout the rest of the year.
I’m not trying to guilt trip you. I’m not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I do think we have a responsibility to think about how our food is sourced.
Alongside Veganuary I am also fundraising for Plan International. I am an ambassador for their “Because I am a Girl” campaign which aims to end enforced child marriage and highlights the importance of educating girls. I’ve travelled to South Sudan and seen first hand how sometimes cattle is valued above a girl child. Help us stop gender discrimination.
Give whatever you can. Thank you.
