Ride and Stride 2015 · 12 September 2015 ·

The OHCT gives grants to Oxfordshire churches of all Christian denominations for major fabric repairs (walls, roofs, floors and windows). Bells, organs, clocks, new toilets and kitchens may also get grants. The annual Ride and Stride is currently the biggest source of income for the OHCT.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you know, for about 12 years I have been involved with The Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, of which I am now a trustee, helping public places of worship in the city of Oxford apply for grants for repairs and facilities for community use - with the C of E ones I have already been involved in approving the plans via the DAC - and just about all of the 55 churches on my patch have had one or more grants.  We raise most of our income for the grants via Ride and Stride and I shall be just one of hundreds and hundreds of others doing this round the UK on the 12th September.  Half of what I raise will go to OHCT and half to my own church, St Andrew's, which has just built a big extension to provide for the large number of families and young people who pack themselves in on Sundays and during the week;  we still have to raise the last few thousand pounds.
