Countryside Alliance Hunters' Derby - Lingfield Park · 4 June 2011

Many children and young people know little about the countryside and rural way of life. Its programme of educational initiatives will introduce them, and their teachers, to the beauty, importance and diversity of our rural heritage, inspiring them to become passionate about its future and protect it for future generations.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving donation page.

I'll be riding Jet-Smart Max (originally registered with the USA Jockey Club as "Unchained" but never raced), in our first ever 1 mile Flat race on 4th June 2011.  The race is in aid of The Countryside Alliance Foundation charity, at Lingfield Park Racecourse, near Gatwick, England.

When I came across Max whilst in the USA in 2002, he'd suffered a serious leg injury in training.  His racing career was doomed and his future was in the balance.  Now 12, he's fit, happy and loves to gallop!  His breeding papers show he is a Grandson of the great Seattle Slew, the USA Triple Crown winner.  I'll be wearing the colours of my good friend, Joan Tambruro and her late husband Peter, of Ocala, Florida, where Max was born and bred.

I do hope you will be kind enough to donate to the Countryside Alliance's worthy cause.  We'll do our very best to win for you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and your details are totally secure. JustGiving won't send you unwanted emails. Your money goes directly to The Countryside Alliance Foundation and Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation if you're a UK taxpayer. It’s the most efficient way to donate.

Thank you so much for supporting me and The Countryside Alliance Foundation.  And don't forget to come and cheer us on at Lingfield Park Racecourse on 4th June!
