Story
Many of you will know that running is not exactly my forte and a few years ago I wouldn't have been able to contemplate putting my trainers on and running this race but now I'm almost fit enough I figured why not do it for a cause that means an awful lot to me?
Why should you support my charity? Endometriosis is a painful, debilitating and currently incurable condition that affects 1 in 10 women in the UK (that's 2 million women) yet 80% of the UK's population still haven't heard of it, making the impact it has on sufferers' lives even harder to deal with. Many of you will have daughters, sisters, wives, girlfriends and friends affected at some point in their lives. Endometriosis UK works to increase understanding of this disease among healthcare professionals, employers, people with endometriosis and their families, the public and the media. The charity campaigns for more funds for research into this baffling condition and influences government and healthcare providers to achieve the standards of care and treatment that those with endometriosis deserve.
5k may not be a huge distance to all the pro-runners I work with every day but it is a challenge for me so I hope you'll appreciate the effort required and the impact my fundraising will have. Please dig deep and donate now! Even just a small donation will make a difference...
