Story
As some of you know, this year has been marked by the tragic loss of some members of my extended family, including my father-in-law Kyriacos, and all because of one terrible condition: cancer.
After the loss of dad Kyriacos, I have decided to take some positive actions, including to stop smoking (once and for all!)... in order to keep up the motivation, I have re-started to take running training and to participate to the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, in order to raise funds for the Institute of Cancer Research.
A special Thanks goes to my beautiful Maria, in supporting me and encouraging me for this initiative!
Many thanks also to our friend Stephanie Foll, who is also participating to this initiative and for having suggested and inspired me for this cause.
As a scientist, I am very much aware and supportive of the great effort that my "colleagues" take every day in order to tackle one of the most infamous health conditions that devastates the lives of patients and of their families and friends.
Your contribution in this cause is going to make a significant difference ... and will motivate me in keeping up with my running training! :)
Grazie Mille !!
Gino xx
