Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Friends for the last 25 years after meeting at teaching college in Glasgow ,  the girls (Audrey, Caroline , Catherine , Dolly, Donna , Helen , Nicky and Sharon )  , have organised this sponsored trek together to fundraise for a charity that they have previously supported over the last 5 years.

The route was planned to take in 2 destinations that the girls have spent some fun times together - ' Maggie's Cafe ' in Amulree and the picturesque village of Kenmore.

The walk takes the girls across Glen Quaich  and past Loch Freuchie , with an ascent of 329 metres. Approximately 13 miles , the walk should take around 4-5 hours.

Also on this walk , the girls will be remembering their dear friend Janet , who passed away from Cancer  , and all their other family and friends who have been affected by this disease.

The Nicola Murray Foundation will direct every penny of sponsorship to the Nicola Murray Fund at Edinburgh University's Cancer Research Centre to be used for Ovarian Cancer Research.

Nicola Murray , dear sister to Caroline , died at the age of 34 from Ovarian Cancer in 2010. At that time ,there was a distinct lack of research to support  treatment pathways for young woman in Nicola's situation.

This charity has been organised to support new , tried and tested treatment pathways for these young women. To find out more , visit the Nicola Murray foundation website at
