On the 8th of July, I'll be participating in the London 10K run for the Orangutan Protection Foundation (http://www.orangutanprotectionfoundation.org/).

Why orangutans?

(a) The orangutan is highly intelligent, very social, and totally magnificent, and

(b) Their natural habitat is gravely threatened by illegal logging and the rapid expansion of oil palm plantations.

The world would be a much poorer place without the orangutan, and we as human beings would have failed a species that is deserving of our respect and commitment, if we do not protect their natural habitat. Please help me help the Orangutan Protection Foundation (also known as Borneo Orangutan Survival) secure new release sites for adult orangutans and care for young orphaned orangutans at various sanctuaries in Borneo.
