Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been so generous with their donations. It is inspiring and we hope to raise much more putting one foot in front of the other (that makes it sound much easier than it is!!)
Following on from the Royal Windsor River Trail Half Marathon a and Regents Park 10k
a few months back, Team Pratt are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October in memory of Sasha Gauci. Sasha died suddenly in December 2012 at 2 years of age, shortly after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Sasha's parents set up a remembrance fund in his name, and so far over £30,000 has been raised in Sasha's memory.

Anyone who has not had an opportunity to donate yet and would like to can do so here!

Every penny really does make a difference. To give you an idea of what your donation can do:

£6 could provide bed-mounted hand sanitiser units, which will improve the level of hand hygiene compliance.

£10 will provide effective pain relief for four children with cancer for a week in Malawi.

£9 could provide welcome packs for the patients: Biscuits, toys, water bottle, cup, bowl, numbing cream, medical tape, antibacterial mouth wash, sterilising wash (all things that patients and their family need to buy themselves in hospital).

£25 will fund reagents used in the diagnosis of 10 children in Bangladesh.

£40 will provide sterile gloves for chemotherapy preparation for one month at one of our project hospitals, protecting the staff from toxic chemotherapy.

£50 will provide life-saving chemotherapy drugs for one child in Ghana.

£100 pays for specialist toys for children who have lost their sight to cancer in the Philippines.

£250 pays for a social care worker for 6 months at our project in Colombia.

RCN 1084729
In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups
