Goldenhar Syndrome is an ‘umbrella’ term for a wide range of bone abnormalities affecting the face and sometimes the vertebrae. Our children often have a number of facial differencies and hearing problems. During their childhoods, children with the syndrome can have a number of surgeries to help with hearing and jaw function, to reconstruct ears and create symmetry in the face.
My gorgeous daughter was born with this rare condition and has found a lot of joy in being part of the Goldenhar UK group. The group hold a family day every year where the children are growing up together and sharing their surgery stories and how they feel about their life experiences. If it wasn't for the group, our children might never have met another child going through what they are going through. Parents also enjoy and rely on the support of the other parents and adults with Goldenhars. Without fundraising, the charity can't provide these brilliant events. Please give what you can so that my girl and others can grow up knowing they are not alone!
