Story

Gordie Milne, Neil Cameron and Jamsey Thomson.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We three nutters are embarking on the 187 mile cycle from the top of the Isle of Lewis, down to the Isle of Barra in the south.  Hills, ferries, 5 seasons in one day.  Yes, nutters right enough.  We've picked the Crossroads charity this year as it resonates with our own outlooks on life.  Being there when someone needs us.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

If you could spare a couple of quid or whatever you have in your pocket, we would be very grateful.  On behalf of wee fat lads on bikes everywhere, we thank you most kindly.

Why do we do it?  Well, why the hell not!

Gordie, Neil and Jamsey.

Crossroads (Lewis) is an independent registered charity. It generates its own income, which is spent for the benefit of the people of Lewis. The Board of Crossroads (Lewis) has overall responsibility for the level and quality of the services provided. Crossroads Lewis provides care at home, regardless of age, disability or illness. Carers and individuals can receive regular support at a time they choose. Our aim is to value carers, providing respite to give them time to themselves e.g. to attend appointments, socialise or rest. Crossroads Lewis aims to prevent carers from becoming ill through exhaustion. We can give peace of mind as our Care Attendants take over the role of the family carer. Crossroads Lewis also supports those living alone in exceptional circumstances, who may be struggling with ill-health, disability or loneliness. Most referrals are made by telephone, but our office is open 9am until 1pm Monday to Friday. Anyone can make a referral to Crossroads Lewis e.g. a carer or family member, GP, Community Nurse or organisations e.g. Alzheimer Scotland or Macmillan (as long as the person referred has their permission.)
