Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is Scotland’s only charity-funded air ambulance service. We rely on public support to keep flying and responding to time-critical emergencies wherever they occur in Scotland. No one in Scotland should die because help can't get there in time.

Story

I live just by the A9 in Killiecrankie, and I work in Pitlochry. The Scottish Charity Air Ambulance has now landed outside my house on the road at least three times, and has landed in the fields outside my house at least once. It's also landed outside my classroom window twice, and on top of some S4s playing football on the playing fields once. The Air Ambulance is a frequent visitor to us in Highland Perthshire.

The SCAA helicopter ambulance is completely free to users - if you're in an accident or if something happens, it will come and pick you up and do its best for free. Unfortunately it costs a huge amount to keep a helicopter maintained and in the air, even before paying for pilots, paramedics and administrative staff.

I am hoping to raise at least £1,500 to keep the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance flying and saving lives. I'm going to do this by cycling for 300 miles from London to Paris. I'm in training by cycling to work as much as possible ("You look rough" is the best pupil comment so far after cycling in!).
