Friends,
Instead of birthday presents this year I am asking for you to donate to ShelterBox, a charity very close to my heart.
As many of you know I did a years internship with ShelterBox in 2014-15 and it honestly was the best thing I have ever done. Not only did it set me up for a career within the charity sector, for which I am forever grateful, it opened my eyes to how much, and how many, families around the world need our help.
Right now, 85 million people around the world have been made homeless by natural disaster and conflict. This shouldn't be the case and together we can help. Let me share Enoch and Mary's story with you...
Enoch, who is completely blind, and Mary live in Malawi with their four children. Just before Christmas the monsoon rain started, but it wasn't the rain they would usually expect, it flooded rivers and brought devastating gales. The roof was ripped off Mary and Enoch's home, the walls collapsed and all their belongings were lost. This left Mary no choice but to leave Enoch and their four children alone and go in search for help. Many hours later, she found ShelterBox. The amazing team walked back to her home and gave the family a life-saving ShelterBox. The box contained everything they needed to survive.
Enoch and Mary's story is one of millions. Right now, there are many more families who have lost everything. Let's go above and beyond my £100 target.
For those London folk that can make it to my candlelit birthday 'Shine for ShelterBox' fundraising dinner - you're lovely.
Together, lets help families like Enoch and Mary's.
Thank you
