Hi everyone! So, throughout May, I’m carrying out a number of fundraising activities for Neoangels (walking 100 miles in May, raffle and fundraising at work).
A bit about the charity;
‘Neoangels is a charity which supports families of sick and premature babies on the Neonatal Units at the University Hospitals of North Tees and James Cook.
We offer an array of services to families including financial support; help with food, travel and parking costs, as well as emotional and bereavement support. We also work incredibly closely with our amazing medical team, meaning we are able to quickly implement new practice methods to best support baby, mum and dad and siblings too.’
This is a charity that’s super close to us as our Willow Blossom might not be here if it wasn’t for the hard work and support of the neonatal team at James Cook so this fundraising is being done to raise as much as possible for a really good cause!
🤍NEOANGELS FUNDRAISER RAFFLE🤍

To give a bit of background as to why this cause means so much to me I want to share some of the story behind it:
Having gone nearly 2 weeks over my due date I’d started to worry our baby was never going to come! I went into hospital with reduced movement and they made the decision to induce me that night and the following, morning break my waters. In doing this they realised there was meconium in my waters but advised me that this was fine and normal in babies that go post term.
Fast forward to 2:18am the day after my waters were broken and Willow Blossom was born but not with the beautiful story I was hoping for. She wasn’t breathing when she was born and after 25 minutes of being worked on to assist her to breathe, the decision was made that she would need to be taken to the neonatal unit for more help and tests.
3 hours later and we were able to go and see her, but not hold her because she was in an incubator, on a CPAP machine and had so many wires attached to her little body. She was diagnosed with sepsis and pneumonia.
Later that day, due to COVID, we were then allowed to go and see her again for a 2 hour visit and our little fighter had taken herself off the CPAP machine and was breathing on her own and maintained her oxygen levels! After a weeks stay in hospital, with no visitors due to COVID, to ensure that both our infection rates were dropping, we were allowed to go home!
If it weren’t for the amazing doctors and nurses on the neonatal unit, Willow might not be here thriving as the amazing little ray of sunshine that she is, we couldn’t be more grateful to the neonatal unit at James Cook and Neoangels as we are.
We’re beyond grateful for the money already raised, please keep donating and sharing, the raffle is still running until the 31st of May 🤍
