We are an international organisation working to build a prosperous rural Africa. We help farmers to increase their harvests, build their incomes and sustain natural resources, partnering with governments and the private sector to find effective ways to fight poverty.

Story

Last November I wandered across the Bale Mountains in Ethiopia with a small group put together by Farm Africa.  At the end of the adventure we had the chance to visit some of their projects that help local farmers grow more, sell more and sell for more.  It was truly impressive - they pioneer techniques that boost harvests, build rural incomes and sustain resources. A few examples of where the money goes...

  • £5 buys 10kg of forage seeds, to grow food for livestock
  • £12 buys a goat
  • £22 sets up a forest products enterprise
  • £50 starts a beekeeping business
  • £240 buys a mule

Having seen farmers in the Ethiopian rainforest harvest honey 50 feet up a tree I can assure you they earn their living!

This Sunday I am riding the Prudential London-Surrey 100 miler, again for the good people at Farm Africa.  As usual, I haven't the chance to do much real training so it's likely to be a painful last few miles,  but with your support I'll get there.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the Farm Africa.

Many thanks for your support.
