I want to tell you about why I am doing this.

I was laying in bed one night when I realised that we use up a lot of electricity. This made me wonder about how much money we could save if we didn't use any power at all for 24 hours. I thought about the environment, and about people who are homeless. I wanted to do something to help them.

I am hoping that by going without power (this includes electricity AND gas - so no hot food, heating, or hot water) we might be more aware of what it is like to have no power. I know it will be hard, especially for daddy because he looks at his phone a lot, but this is important. 

My family have agreed to spend the time walking, reading, and playing games with each other. It will be a nice family day, and I can not wait.
