Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have now been cycling in this annual event for over 10 years and I still enjoy the opportunity to explore the rich variety of  church architecture in Nottinghamshire while raising money to help maintain them.

Travelling round on roads or cycle paths to be met by committed supporters  often with cake and refreshments eager to share the history and unusual features of their church. A great day out and this year I aim to visit around 16 accompanied by 3 friends

Whether they are Grade 1 or unlisted churches, they all deserve help and this event provides a ideal way of supporting them. Obviously the more we donate, the more churches can be helped and the Ride and Stride is our main fundraising event.

It is exciting to know that Heritage County Trusts throughout the country will be out on the same day walking and cycling between churches

The Trust meets 4 times a year and reviews applications submitted by churches to help with their repairs, both internal and external

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The NHCT Sponsored Ride and Stride takes place every year on the second Saturday in September and involves churches in chapels in the county who open doors for visitors who travel from place to place by cycling. It raises money which are used to help fund essential repairs to buildings of worship.
