Story

My wife contracted this life changing disease in 2017 when my youngest girl was just 2 years old. It has changed her life forever and stricken her from doing activities for herself, our three children and me.  Gone are the days for her being able to drive more than 10 minutes. Being able to run with the children, play active games.  Conversations with memory fog cause her frustration and there is nothing she can do about it.

Tasks that many of us just do, like making lunch, walking down the road to the local shop that's 5 minutes away are such demands on her, it means a good couple of hours sat down to recover.  It takes away normal living that she once had and that I take for granted everyday.

Caz battles on and if she pushes herself too hard by going out with me and the children to a park or being on her feet to long, means being bedridden for at least a day to be able to get up and down the stairs.  Things with our family must be planned and say no to if walking is to far or how long Caz will need to be on her feet without sitting down.

I have done other events for different charities , but none as big as this one .  I'd like to try and help this charity, that is closer to home.  I want to help in their research and be able to find a cure/ease the pain that Caz and others go through everyday, some are not as lucky as Caz and are in a much worse physical and mental state.

Fibromyalgia is a recognised chronic condition of widespread pain and profound fatigue. A common illness with an est. prevalence of 2.9% - 4.7%. The pain tends to be felt as diffuse aching or burning, often described as head to toe. It may be worse at some times than at others and may also change location, usually becoming more severe in parts of the body that are used most. Add. symptoms often include: unrefreshing sleep, headaches, irritable bowel, cognitive disturbances, clumsiness, dizziness, allergies, sensitivity to environmental changes.
