Story
I work as a Psychiatrist in the NHS and am taking a career break to walk the length of the UK . I am taking the "scenic route" via National Walkways, including the Pennine Way and anywhere I can realistically avoid roads. The trek will be in the region of 1200 miles and take up to 10 weeks to complete. I have always recognised the personal benefit of walking the outdoors to my own mental health and want to highlight this to others. I see many patients who are not engaged at all with nature and physical activity and want to promote the health benefits of these activities.
Mental Health Concern is a charity that provides life-changing support to improve mental health and wellbeing. Your kind donations go into the Extra Mile Fund for creative projects and activities to further enrich the lives of the people with mental health problems.
